
The mission of Stone Oak Athletics is to strengthen the individual, family, and community through participation in youth sports. Stone Oak Athletics is a youth-oriented association specializing in the growth and development of our future citizens. The organization is made up of volunteer parents, coaches, and administrators. Stone Oak Athletics focus on activities including, but not limited to team building, instruction and developmental camps, agility training, nutrition, and citizenship.

Is Stone Oak Athletics exclusive to residents of the Stone Oak area or students in NEISD?
No. Stone Oak Athletics programs are open to all school-age children in San Antonio and surrounding areas.
What is Stone Oak Athletics hybrid concept?
Stone Oak Athletics hybrid concept is a combination of skills development, league play, and select programs. Trainers will conduct skills development clinics and camps throughout the year. Leagues will be offered year-round with 4 seasons – Winter (January-February), Spring (April-May), Summer (July-August), and Fall (October-November). Dates are approximate. In addition, select team tryouts will be offered to all Stone Oak Athletics players who are interested in representing Stone Oak Athletics at AAU sanctioned events.
What programs are currently being offered by Stone Oak Athletics?
Stone Oak Athletics is currently offering basketball leagues, tournaments, clinics and camps. We have also partnered with The Priest Holmes Foundation to offer Spring Football Clinics and Stephanie Matrtinez, of Twinkle Toes, to offer a youth aerobics and nutrition program.
What other programs does Stone Oak Athletics plan to offer for the future?
In addition to basketball, Stone Oak Athletics is considering offering football (flag/tackle), soccer, and baseball. If you are interested in participating in or coaching one these programs, please contact us at info@stoneoakathletics.com.

Has the parents’ meeting been scheduled for the upcoming season?
Stone Oak Athletics schedules Parents’ Meetings 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the season and is posted under the League tab.
Where will teams practice?
Stone Oak Athletics has secured several practice gyms within NEISD, NISD and Comal ISD. Practice locations are given out at the coaches and parent meeting. We also post the locations under League/Message Board after teams are formed.
How much practice time is each team allotted?
Teams in the 6U and 8U divisions will be scheduled for 1 hour of practice time each week. Teams in the 9U to 12U divisions will be assigned a minimum of 1 hour each week, with an addition hour available, if space allows. In the event of district/school events or NEISD holidays, we will accommodate teams as space allows. This may result in shared gym time on those days/weeks.
How many games will each team play in a season?
There will be 7 regular season games followed by a double-elimination tournament for all teams. Each team will therefore play a minimum of 9 games per season.
When and where will games be played?
6U, 8U and 9U games will be played on Saturdays at Canyon Ridge Elementary School.11U, 12U and 13U play at a NEISD school. Gym locations are subject to change per NEISD. The tournament will be a two day tournament. Teams may play both days and/or multiple games on one day.
Is the schedule subject to change?
Stone Oak Athletics will make every effort to avoid schedule changes once the season has started. It is possible however that games could be rescheduled due to UIL events, severe weather, or other events that limit access to facilities, or as directed by NEISD.
What age divisions do you offer?
Stone Oak Athletics Basketball season is open to all players in the following age divisions: 6U, 8U, 9U, 11U and 12U.
What age division is my child eligible for?
Divisions are determined by player’s age as of 01 September. Players may “play up” a division, but may not play down.
Do you verify ages for all players?
All new registrants must provide a copy of the player’s birth certificate for verification of eligibility. Players will not be assigned to teams without this verification.
Can I request a coach or friend for my child’s team?
Requests may be made on the registration form via internet or mail. Every attempt is made to accommodate all requests.
How many players are on a team?
Teams will have a minimum of 7 players on their roster. The maximum number of players per team is 10 in all age divisions. Coaches may request an extended roster if they are registering a full team. All roster changes are at the coach’s discretion.
Do you provide trophies for players?
Stone Oak Athletics will provide medals to the top 3 teams in each division. We are working to offer league ordering for trophies.
Are uniforms provided?
Jerseys are provided for all registered players, included with registration fee.
Are coaches trained and/or certified?
All Stone Oak Athletics coaches attend a mandatory coaches’ meeting and are required to have a signed Coach’s Code of Conduct on file with Stone Oak Athletics.
Do you provide additional training, clinics or camps?
Stone Oak Athletics is collaborating with former Spurs George Gervin, Antoine Carr and Mike Mitchell. Please see the Events section of the website for more information regarding these camps and clinics.

What is AAU?
The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer, sports organizations in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs (www.aausports.org).
Are you a registered AAU Club member?
Stone Oak Athletics is registered as Club Level 2. Stone Oak Athletics club code is STBA4X3KCO.
What is the benefit of AAU affiliation?
AAU events will offer our players additional competition locally, as well as at the
regional and national levels. With future plans to host a regional tournament, we will be bringing visitors to the community who will frequent our local businesses and bring additional revenue to our area.

What volunteer opportunities do you have?
We are always looking for volunteers for a
variety of positions. Some of the areas include gym set up
and clean up, fundraising, coaches, team moms, concessions stand,
score/time keepers. etc. If you would like to help in one

Who can volunteer?
Anyone ages 14 and older can volunteer with Stone Oak Athletics. Parent/Guardian approval and release of liability waiver is required for students who wish to volunteer during Stone Oak Athletics events, clinics, camps, etc. Students will receive written verification of volunteer hours for credit.

Does Stone Oak Athletics require fundraising?
Fundraising is not a requirement for joining Stone Oak Athletics, however the funds generated aid in supplementing the registration fees paid by each player. Stone Oak Athletics depends on fundraising dollars to continue offering quality programs to school-age children in the San Antonio area at an affordable cost.
What is the fundraising money used for?
The funds generated from our fundraisers will be applied to, but not limited to, the following: facility rental, professional fees for referee and skills development, equipment, and other operating costs, as well as philanthropic causes.
What kind of fundraisers will you have?
Fundraisers will vary each season. Examples of possible fundraisers include: raffle tickets, discount cards, banquet tickets, auction items, etc. If you have an idea for a fundraiser, please contact hwilliams4@stoneoakathletics.com.
What is the 2010 fundraiser?
The past few years have been an economic struggle for many families. In order to still provide activities for these children we will be adding a donation section on the registration form. The donation can be for any amount and will go directly to helping these children so they can participate in the Stone Oak Athletics program. Donations can also be made throughout the year.
