The mission of Stone Oak Athletics is to strengthen the individual, family, and community through participation in youth sports. Stone Oak Athletics is a youth-oriented association specializing in the growth and development of our future citizens. The organization is made up of volunteer parents, coaches, and administrators. Stone Oak Athletics focus on activities including, but not limited to team building, instruction and developmental camps, agility training, nutrition, and citizenship.

Stone Oak Athletics, a non-profit 501 (c), the newest AAU-affiliated sports league in San Antonio. Currently offering basketball leagues and developmental camps, Stone Oak Athletics hopes to offer a variety of other sports programs in the future. “Our goal is to offer a quality, comprehensive, and competitive environment to our players by incorporating team building, instruction, agility training, nutrition, and citizenship into all our programs,” says Tony Warren, founder and director of Stone Oak Athletics.

Though our name is Stone Oak Athletics, all players are welcome from all parts of San Antonio and surrounding areas. Players are currently enrolled from NEISD, Comal, NISD, Judson, EISD, and Boerne. Our winter season is under way and we are enjoying the participation and competition between teams in 13and under (13U), 11U, 9U, 8U and 6U divisions. We offer both developmental and competitive leagues and we even have an all-girls 11U team.

During our off-seasons, Stone Oak Athletics is in constant search of developmental trainings and events that will benefit and interest the kids of San Antonio. In our first year of existence, we have already offered skills training camps and exclusive trainings with nationally acclaimed trainers as well as Spurs affiliated educators. In the Spring of 2009, Stone Oak Athletics hosted two Legends Basketball Clinics featuring Spurs legends George “The Iceman” Gervin, Mike Mitchell, and Antoine “Big Dogg” Carr. In keeping with their non-profit philosophy, Stone Oak Athletics donated 50% of the proceeds from these clinics to Mosaic, a faith-based organization serving people with developmental disabilities.

We take our community efforts seriously. We offer scholarships throughout San Antonio to players who are approved for assistance through their district. For the winter season alone, we have distributed scholarships to 40 players who are now enjoying their time learning the sport, participating and positively utilizing their time after school and on the weekends. Stone Oak Athletics is currently reviewing our next opportunity to work with our community teens with a full weekend curriculum of life skills, nutrirition, job searching skills and community awareness education. The teens that enroll in this seminar will be given the opportunity to learn from our own community success stories and will have a day of basketball skills training with our own Legends of Basketball in San Antonio. This event, with the support of our district leaders will be coming to a high school near you. Current information will be available as the dates get closer. Stone Oak Athletics recognizes the importance of working with other business within our community. Our website contains information and advertisements for many of our local businesses.

Stone Oak Athletics has a very talented group of volunteers working to make us the first name for youth sports in South Texas. We celebrate our volunteer coaches and administration that helps us continue to grow. We appreciate all of our parents and players and strive to be the number one League in San Antonio. Our administrators understand the difficulties that parents face in signing up and participating in children’s sports activities. All of our administrators are parents or coaches who have tested other sports leagues and are searching for something more family-friendly and more dedicated to children learning the game that they are passionate about. Master trainers, Anthony Calloway and Fred Cox bring personal training experience to assist coaches with strength and endurance training for their players. Football Director, AvRon Trabue is a board member with the Stone Oak Titans and brings his experience in running football clinics and camps. The success of Stone Oak Athletics is made possible through the efforts of all the staff, coaches, players, team moms, volunteers, and parents. If you would also like to support Stone Oak Athletics Community Efforts but just don't have the time to commit, we also accept dontations and 100% of all funds received go towards programming and community events to enrich childrens lives. And remember, all donations are tax deductible. Thank you to everyone for your support.
